Panagiota Angeli
Professor

Biography
Prof Angeli received a Diploma in Chemical Engineering from the National University of Athens and a PhD in Multiphase Flows from Imperial College London. She joined UCL in 1996 where she is currently heading the Multiphase Flow group. Her research is internationally acknowledged for unique insights in two-phase flow phenomena, enabled by original and advanced sensing and measurement technologies (PIV, tomography, local probes), that lead to the development of predictive models. She is particularly interested in the flow of liquid-liquid mixtures relevant to oil flow assurance in large pipelines and the flow and mass transfer characteristics of two-phase liquid-liquid and gas-liquid reaction and separation systems in intensified and small scale units. These flows underpin processes in a wide range of industries spanning from energy (oil and nuclear) to speciality chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and consumer goods. Prof Angeli has published over 120 original research publications in peer reviewed journals and conference proceedings, and participates in national and international research funding review panels.
